Short Biography

Martin Tomitsch received an MSc in Informatics in 2004 and completed his PhD in 2008, both at the Vienna University of Technology. His research deals with user interfaces that go beyond traditional desktop computing applications. In his PhD thesis he explored the concept of architectural display, focussing on the architectural ceiling for visualizing information at the periphery of user attention in everyday environments. He is especially interested in synergies between architectural concepts and ubiquitous computing environments. While working at INSO he was also involved in industrial projects as usability consultant and interaction designer, and taught courses in user interface design, usability engineering, and human-computer interaction. Since 2009 he works as Lecturer at the University of Sydney.
