183.607 VU Advanced ERP Systems 1

Goals and content

During this course, students will learn specific key aspects about processes, process management and workflow management. The emphasis will be put on practical knowledge development based on real-life examples. After successfully passing the course, a student will be capable of recognizing and modeling the classical end to end processes in practical life. Be it a complex process like the order to cash process or be it a smaller one like a booking authorization, either of them can be analyzed, valuated and critically discussed by the students. Further goals are the demarcation of IT and specialist departments, the understanding of business and technical roles in IT and the tasks of the economics and computing graduate in that context. Classical process management as well as questions of project management will be rounding up the portfolio. To further strengthen the theoretical knowledge, one of the already introduced products (SAP or Microsoft Dynamics) will be practically taught up to certification readiness of the students.

Course language is English.

The following contents will be treated:

  • process modeling and process circuits
  • process analysis and rating (benchmarking)
